TGI is a privately owned, comprehensive office technology provider offering innovative solutions from industry leading partners like Lanier, Toshiba, Lexmark, KIP, Riso and HP. These partnerships enable us to provide businesses with both cost effective and reliable devices, software, services and support.
TGI’s slogan of Thinking Great Ideas is more than just a slogan; it is the company mantra. Our goal is to provide customers with Great Ideas to help improve their document workflow, control costs, meet compliancy requirements and reduce waste.
In 1964, one year prior to the invention of the compact disc, TGI Office Automation (then T&G Industries) was born in a brownstone on the then hardscrabble streets of Brooklyn, NY. Two partners set out to earn an honest living with a $500 loan from their grandmother, selling copy paper and office supplies. From those humble beginnings, TGI has grown into one of the most successful business technology providers in the U.S. offering equipment, solutions and service nationwide. Although our organization has grown in leaps and bounds, we’ve never lost touch with the old neighborhood. Our state-of-the-art headquarters and cutting-edge technology portal is located less than a mile away from that same humble brownstone constantly reminding us of where we came from. The only difference is the neighborhood is just a little bigger. Today TGI is a $100,000,000 company and growing.
Over the last 50 years, TGI has matured to become an indispensable business partner by providing our clients with solutions to their most pressing business problems. We have identified through our experiences that most companies are looking for guidance on issues such as increasing efficiency, improving security, lowering their environmental impact and becoming more profitable. By implementing strategies within our 8 value propositions, TGI can help our customers realize a significant, positive impact to their bottom line. Our goal for the future is to continue to develop these partnerships with our customers along with adapting to the latest technology in the market. Many of the strategies we know will help with our long term growth are the same strategies that have provided us with unprecedented growth. We focus on helping organizations improve their document workflow, ensure their information is secure, provide control over device output and provide document on ramps to software programs. We think outside the box and figure out unconventional ways of solving problems. In addition, we provide a roadmap that organizations can use to successfully navigate the winding roads of a successful print management strategy. TGI has developed GPS – Green, Print, Save to help organizations identify ways to reduce costs, gain control and be more environmentally responsible with their output devices. The shift we have made from the position of copier vendor to business partner has been pivotal. Our job is to use our experience and insight to work with our clients on uncovering hidden, emerging demands to improve the way they do business. By uncovering these emerging demands you bring much more to the table than a low-bid, you bring value and that value is what will help us continue to grow now and in the distant future.
