My goal is to consult with businesses to reduce their bottom line for hiring and training expenses. Using Government programs that will allow employers to obtain partial reimbursement for salary and/or tax credits or both.

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is a Federal tax credit that is available to employers who hire and retain veterans and individuals from other target groups with significant barriers to employment. Employers claim about $1 billion in tax credits each year under the WOTC program. There is no limit on the number of individuals an employer can hire to qualify to claim these tax credit, and there are a few simple steps to follow to apply for WOTC.

These federal tax credits are available for the following:

Displaced Workers
Displaced workers are defined as persons 20 years of age and older who lost or left jobs because:

  • Their plant or company closed or moved
  • There was insufficient work for them to do
  • Their position or shift was abolished. Note: AKA Dislocated Worker

Veterans Program
Companies can claim a credit against taxes, all veterans with service connected disabilities, if the veteran has been looking for work for six months or longer owed of as much as $2400 federal tax credit.
